Wellington Housewives Association

The Association was established in 1946. It was concerned with the price of essential commodities, the purity of foodstuffs and the hygienic handling of food. The Association was also involved with youth and child welfare issues, community standards and, in its earlier days, equal pay for women in the workforce.
