Fowlds, George (Sir), 1860-1934

Clothier, politician, university administrator, community leader. Sir George Fowlds was Member of Parliament for Auckland City and then Grey Lynn 1899-1911. See DNZB (Vol 2, 1870-1900, p151-152). The Fowlds papers are held in the University of Auckland Library, and include scrapbooks of published cartoons featuring Fowlds during his political career.
