Tongariro (Ship : 1883-1897)
Single screw steam ship with clipper bow of 4200 tons, was built in 1883 by John Elder & Co., for the New Zealand Shipping Co. Chartered by the Beaver Line in 1897, and then to B.I.S. Vav Co. and renamed Zibenghla. See Ships with New Zealand Associations (Vol 3, p 17)
