Auckland and Coromandel sawmiller and politician. Liberal Member of Parliament for Coromandel, Thames, Auckland City, Waikato and Ohinemuri 1881-1899. On Legislative Council 1899-1905. Was Native Minister between 1891-1893. Appointed at KCMG in 1903.
