Jackson, Emma, active 1840-1858

From Lancashire. Came out to Wellington on board the 'Duke of Roxburgh' in February 1840 with her husband, James Jackson. They settled at Petone in the Waiwhetu area and owned land at Lowry Bay, which they were cultivating by 1845 and on which a house was built by the early 1850s. By 1858 she was a widow living in Preston, Lancashire. Many references to the Jacksons in Joseph Greenwood's diary
