Pascoe, J D, 1908-1972

Mountaineer, photographer, writer, editor, historian and archivist. Born Christchurch (26 Sep) twin brother of Paul Pascoe, educated Christ's College. Various positions held in Dept of Internal Affairs including Centennial Publications, War History Branch, NZ Historic Places Trust, Wildlife and Chief Archivist, National Archives, Wellington, 1963-1972. Wrote various books on mountaineering and history of exploration. Died 20 Oct 1972, aged 65 years.
