Marsh, Ngaio (Dame), 1895-1982

Dame Ngaio Marsh was an artist, playwright, actor, novelist, director. New Zealand playwright, drama producer in New Zealand and England, and writer of detective novels; her father registered her birth in 1899, hence frequent confusion re her birth year. See DNZB (Vol 4, 1921-1940, p338-339, M42). She is buried in the churchyard of the Church of the Holy Innocents, in the grounds of Mt Peel Station, Peel Forest, South Canterbury.
