Situated between south east Pirongia and the Waipa river. (Reference, Leslie Kelly, `Tainui'). Ngati Apakura marae include; Kahotea, Puurekireki, Mookai Kainga, Hiiona and Tokanganuianoho (Reference, Waikato Raupatu Lands Trust, 2005).
