- Photographs of New Zealand plants, insects, reptiles and birds, taken by entomologist Richard Sharell. Richard Sharell was born in Graz, Austria in 1893. He trained in art and natural history and became a significant educationalist noted for his modern ideas. In 1940 he emigrated to New Zealand where he worked in the Correspondence School, founding its naturalist club and Magazine. He was the author of a number of books on native fauna.
