A centrally-placed mature multi-trunked cabbage tree, with rocky headlands and a canoe on the sea beyond. Likely to be the eastern side of Miramar Peninsula, or the entrance to Wellington Harbour seen from Houghton or Island Bay.
Another drawing in pencil is on the verso, showing cabbage trees and a bush-clad inlet, with colour notes.
