Context - The pending closure of the New Zealand Press Association (NZPA) could threaten the survival of regional newspapers, supporters of the national news agency say. The NZPA board yesterday said the future of the 130-year-old newswire service was to be "reviewed". The move was sparked by major shareholder Fairfax, which gave notice of withdrawal from the co-operative.
