The Alexander Turnbull Library SPC copy. Binding: straight grained red morocco gold tooled and blind tooled on upper and lower covers with double fillets enclosing rolled gold tooled border, with central panel rolled in blind, with interwoven gold tooled diamond shape; spine with raised bands, tooled in blind and gold in decorated compartments with galleon motif in 2nd and 3rd panels. Gold tooled edges and turn-ins decorated in gold and blind with green silk doublures, also decorated with blind roll; cream endpapers watermarked with '1815'; gilt text edges. Note in ms. on front endpaper "Finely bound by Hering".

The Alexander Turnbull Library SPC copy. Provenance: note pencilled on front endpaper "Presentation copy to Admiral Sir David Milne to whom the work is dedicated." Sticker on front endpaper "Lot 4573 Gibson Craig sale at Sotheby's, 13th April, 1888"; bookplate of Alexander H. Turnbull. Acc. 1062.
