Binding: calf, wide gold-tooled border on upper and lower covers made up of an outer roll enclosing a repeating border of various individual tools including palmettes, coronets and rosettes. Within the border in each corner is a cornucopia and in the centre a chippendale armorial with the motto "vincit veritas" of the Coote family of Ballyfin, Queen's County, Ireland, rebacked, spine gold tooled with decorated compartments, raised spine bands, gold tooled edges, marbled text edges, red silk bookmarks. Spine title: Collection of voyages. Provenance: bookplate of Alex H. Turnbull. Acc. 1408-1413.
