Description: The base map was one provided by the Department of Lands and Survey for use by surveyors when land was in the process of being subdivided. Includes a declaration to be completed by the surveyor and a Justice of the Peace. The base map has been used show the subdivisions and streets in Khandallah between the Wellington - Manawatu Railway and roads once named as Victoria, Gordon, McKenzie and Lochiel, also Mona Crescent. Numbered sections include acreages, measurements and some have sites of houses. A stream runs through several properties. Surveying details include Kaiwarra [Kaiwhara] Hill.
