Description: The base map was one provided by the Department of Lands and Survey for use by surveyors when land was in the process of being subdivided. Includes a declaration to be completed by the surveyor and a Justice of the Peace. The base map has been used show the subdivisions and streets in Khandallah between the Wellington - Manawatu Railway and roads once named as Victoria, Gordon, McKenzie and Lochiel, also Mona Crescent. Numbered sections include acreages, measurements and some have sites of houses. A stream runs through several properties. Surveying details include Kaiwarra [Kaiwhara] Hill. Other Titles - Plan of subdivision of Subdivisions 1. 2. 3. and 4, Sections 1 and 2, Porirua Base map: Department of Lands and Survey, New Zealand. Description: Photographs of New Plymouth and district, including Mt Egmont and a sequence of views of Parihaka (including the campaign of 1881). Prints from original negatives (with copy negs at 1/2-011671 to 011799) are at PAColl-3722. Negatives made by William Andrews Collis at his New Plymouth studio Quantity: 517 b&w original negative(s). Physical Description: 10" x 8", 1/1 plate, 1/2 plate, and 4" x 7" glass negatives Provenance: Previously held by the New Plymouth Museum. Processing information: Archivists notes - Originally arranged and described in 1993. Reference number changed from PAColl-3032 to PA-Group-00419 in 2009.
