Description: Pirongia Mountain in the left background and the volcanic cone of Kakepuku to the right. A line of trees in the middle distance, flax and low scrub in the foreground, with part of the fenceline of Rarowera Pā on the right (also known as Raroera Pā). Rarowera Pa was on what is now Wallace Terrace, about a mile from the centre of modern Te Awamutu Other Titles - Pirongia Kakepuku There is a similar drawing by Merrett in the Grey Album, British Library, Add. MS 19953, p. 36 plate 95 with title The mountain of Perongia from Rarewera. Description: Flier addressing Scottish customers, points out that New Zealand exports almost exclusively to the United Kingdom, making the fullest possible use of British-owned vessels and paying over 8 million pounds a year in freight charges on shipped goods. A circular motif at top left shows the New Zealand and Scottish flgs arranged with Scottish thistle and kowhai. At top right is a map of the globe with a ship steaming from New Zealand to Britain. The verso contains a message from Mr A J Sinclair, Secretary-Manager of the Te Awamutu Dairy Company (and also a "Motherwell Chiel'"), to the retail grocers of Scotland, asking them to feature "Lotus" brand butter and other New Zealand brands, because of its excleent qualities. A tear-off portion of the flier asks for feedback from the buyer of the butter. Mr Sinclair's portrait photograph is shown at lower left of recto side. Quantity: 1 colour photo-mechanical print(s).
