Description: Shows 101 New Zealand stamps arranged in a shape flowing from the left side and separating into two circles. The lower circle contains a map of New Zealand. The upper circle partly encloses four of the stamps which are displayed larger than the rest. These four portray the four seasons: Spring (Lambs and daffodils on a Wairarapa farm), Summer (Kaiteriteri Beach), Autumn (St Omar Park, Queenstown), and Winter (Mt Ngauruhoe and surroundings under snow) (identified on http://stamps.nzpost.co.nz, retrieved 14 August 2009). Date identified by date of stamp issue. The "Seasons" stamps were issued in 1982. A poster using a similar concept was designed by Reg Nicholls ca 1973. Description: Woodridge sailed to New Zealand in Oct 1902 and in his journal describes his voyage on the ss `Papanui' visiting the Spain, Tenerife, the Cape of Good Hope and Tasmania en route, his travels through New Zealand, his departure and voyage back to England on the `Rimutaka' via Cape Horn, Uruguay. He writes of his daily activities, the people he met, the various sights, social life and customs of the places visited and he has included in the volume stamps from the various ports they visited, photographs, pen drawings, dried plants, maps and a huia feather. His itinerary is summarised at the end of the book which also includes a brief address list of persons met and rough abstract of expenses. Description: Drawing shows a bi-plane on an airfield. A uniformed man carries a sack of mail from a van on the far right, to be loaded on to the plane. The centre back ground has the word "Airmail" written above sun rays emanating from cumulus clouds, with Mount Cook in the left distance, and a steaming Mount Ngauruhoe in the right distance. This stamp design was a competition entry. It may have been for the 1931 stamp issue, a competition won by Leonard Cornwall Mitchell.
