Description: Two pigs discuss the news that Mayor Tim Shadbolt wants to trademark them so that the Australians can't pinch them. Text above reads 'Invercargill - Australasia's pigsty oops pigstay' but the word 'pigsty' is an error and so is crossed out. Refers to the news that Invercargill mayor Tim Shadbolt fears Australia could steal the Auckland Island pigs from Invercargill, so city councillors have discussed "trademarking" the pigs. Living Cell Technologies aims to revolutionise diabetes treatments by transplanting genetically pure Auckland Island pig cells into humans. A herd of the pigs in a $2million highly sterile pig breeding unit near Invercargill is being used for the company's clinical trials on humans. If successful and the pigs are found to hold the cure to diabetes, experts say the industry would be worth millions. Quantity: 2 digital cartoon(s).
