Description: A photograph album which appears to have been created by an unidentified young woman, that contains photographs taken between 1926 and 1929, mainly of young women in various locations throughout the North Island of New Zealand, and a few of Sorrento in Australia. It includes images of Wanganui Girls' College, including images of "Lord and Lady Fergusson" (Sir Charles and Lady Fergusson) during their visit there in 1929; a ski trip (Ruapehu?), a wedding in Patea, a school trip to Hipango Park, and holiday pictures, including beach scenes. Named people Mary Barker, Miss Oldrige, Regina Heywood, Ruth Goddard, Misses Williams & Duew, Miss Rainforth, Miss Drew "JP". Quantity: 1 album(s) Containing 87 b&w photographic print(s). Physical Description: Green cardboard album, with gold embossed letter and picture of a sailing boat and island on the cover, with brown string tie, containing eighty-seven photographic prints, 17 cm x 22 cm. Processing information: This record used to have the reference number 77-014-5/07 until it was given a new reference number in October 2016, as part of an enhancement project which required it to be stored in a different location in the Library.

Description: Maori correspondence mostly from the Whanganui district relating tribal activities, affairs and matters relating to land. Includes lists of names for Maori living at Parewanui; report from a meeting between Governor Grey, Major Kemp (Te Ranghiwinui), and various hapu from Whanganui; a letter about Epiha Patapu, native policeman from Whanganui who gave an oath of allegience to the Queen. Also includes letter from Wikitoa Taringakuri (aka Te Kaeaea) offering to sell large amounts of land in Wellington because of his extreme age and inability to collect the rents of his properties. Description: Photographs taken by Albert Percy Godber, chiefly between 1934 and 1947, but including copies of some of his earlier photographs. Views include trips in the North and South Islands, and views of his home and family, especially in Whiteman's Valley Road and the area around Silverstream. Also various scenes of floods (Hutt River), and storm damage. Photographs associated with roads and railways include steam locomotives, tunnels, bridges and viaducts, some under construction. Among the trip photographs are views of Ngaruawahia, including King Koroki's house (opened in 1938) and the Maori Parliament House. Photograph album of Whanganui River expedition

Description: Album of photographs taken 1921 by James Ingram McDonald while on an ethnographic expedition up the Whanganui River. The expedition was undertaken by McDonald, Elsdon Best, Peter Buck, and Johannes Carl Andersen, under the auspices of the Dominion Museum. There are many views of the Whanganui River and villages, including numbers of waka at Koriniti, and views of eel traps across the river. Very detailed sequences of photographs show flax weaving, coarser weave for kete and eel traps, and finer quality for clothing and ceremonial mats. The captions appear to have been added later, in pencil, with some names being unclear. Many of the photographs have copy negatives, some are 1/4 and some 1/2.
