Description: Ethel Curtis (left), and Margaret Battersby with Nathan Wise and Fiona Leggat, at Wadestown School, Wellington, New Zealand. Photographed by an Evening Post staff photographer on the 18th of August 1981. Ethel Curtis and Margaret Battersby were former senior teachers of junior classes at Wadestown School. They were visiting the school in relation to its' centenary in October 1981. Miss Battersby, 94, was Miss Curtis' teacher for her first few years as a Wadestown School pupil, and taught there from 1909 until her retirement in 1933. Miss Curtis returned several times to teach, the last of them for 10 years before her retirement in 1969. Quantity: 1 b&w original negative(s).
