Description: Two albums of photographs taken mainly in Masterton about 1887-1891, probably by Robert Gant. Most photographs of individual men and groups of men, often posed in tableaux, and including men dressed as women. Many subjects appear to be homosexual men. Most photographs have captions. Description: Four men, including photographer William Williams, seated outdoors on stones in Wainuiomata. Williams is second from left with a camera by his knee and a camera mounted on a tripod behind him. Thomas H Wyatt is on the right. The other two men are named Kevern and Toulson. They are all dressed in hats, suits, and boots. Two smoke pipes while the other two eat. Photograph taken in either 1882 or 1883, probably by William Williams with a self timer.
