Photographs include views of Mount Cook Boys' School staff at a picnic, children from the school on an outing to the coast where they were picnicking and swimming, and teachers in fancy dress. A number of images show Trafalgar Day celebrations, with a parade through the streets of Wellington, and activities at Newtown Park. Two ships shown are HMS Powerful in Wellington Harbour, and La Bella after being washed ashore at Ohiro Bay, 15th October 1904. Totorore expedition transparencies

Description: Colour transparencies of birdlife, sailing, and local scenes taken by James (Jim) Watt in Chile during the Totorore Expedition, Jul-Dec 1983, and the building of the boat 'Totorore' in 1982. Set shows the 'Totorore' under construction at Homelands Orchard in Kerikeri, with slides including the yacht in a shed surrounded by building supplies and the fitting of the mast. The remainder of the images are in Chile. Valparaiso photographs show a statue of St Peter, the 'Totorore' moored next to a sewerage outlet. Valdiva scenes include stores on the beach,a japonica bush, fog, houses (some derelict), and the town centre. Birds include black vultures "Jote" in Valdivia and a grey gull "garuma" in Valparaiso.
