Description: The base map, from the New Zealand cadastral map Town Series, of Wellington city encompasses part of Island Bay Parade and Lyall Parade to Evans Bay to Kaiwharawhara to Wilton Road to Happy Valley Road. The City and County boundary is prominently marked, as is the Registration District boundary. Suburbs are named. Reclaimed land is shown. Wharves and waterfront buildings are named. The Wellington Harbour and Corporation Land Act 1880 is referred to. Annotations to this map are areas of Maori reserves, referred to in a key. The largest area is between Waripori Street, Rintoul Street, a reserve and Adelaide Road, Russell Terrace and Florence Street. Several small reserve areas are marked in Newtown and Berhampore.
