Percy Simmons, son of Edgar and Harriet Simmons of Taumarunui, was engaged to Elsa Bass, a teacher. The Police encourage IBM to take their INCIS computer and jump off a bridge. IBM spent millions of taxpayer dollars on creating a new Police computer system that never worked. Mt Eden prison guards try to work out how prisoners are getting out and drugs getting in. Admidst the ruins of Belgrade Milosevic stands victorious. The Police consider getting rid of the INCIS computer to a crime consortium believing it will stop them dead in their tracks like it has done to the Police. Milosevic uses peace talks to buy time to destroy war crimes evidence. Police operations are stoped in their tracks by the weight of the INCIS computer disaster. Comment on retailers selling liquor to underagedrinkers The Serbs pull out of Kosovo as Nato forces enter the area. Comment on the New Zealand cricket team making hard work out of limited over cricket. The Soviets welcome the Nato forces to Yugoslavia. Shows a ship load of Chinese boat people on a collision course with New Zealand as the National coalition Government passes emergency legislation allowing mass, indefinite detention of asylum seekers. Inland Revenue Department assures the public that all small and powerless taxpayers are bullied equally. Serbia puts the blame for large scale death and destruction in Kosovo on the Nato bombing campaign. Shows newspaper ad for a crown entity boss, all perks and no responsibility. Minister of Immigration, Tuariki Delamere sets one standard for migrants and another for himself and his family. Jenny Shipley shoots TV news presenter, John Hawkesby in the head with a rubber arrow. He received a substantial pay-out when his contract was terminated. The Mongrel Mob supports Tony Ryall's plans to introduce tougher penalties for home invasion, if it relates to their homes being invaded but not their neighbours. Comment on breach of privilege by the Prime Minister Jenny Shipley and TVNZ over the John Hawkesby pay-out. Rugby supporters froze to their seats during a recent rugby match. Description: Programme booklet for a dance recital contains photographs of King Albert in military uniform, and a group of (probably Belgian) children standing in fur coats. The programme lists tableaux and dances. Tableaux include "Belgium" (Mona Mackay), "The Allies" (with women representing England (Miss M Miller), France (Miss Woodham), Russia (Miss Lewis), Servia (Miss E Miller), Japan (Miss Hipkins), and Belgium (Miss Mona Mackay). Most of the men photographed are named only with Christian names, surnames or nicknames. The first sequence shows various military camps, including the training depot set up at the Awapuni Racecourse for the Medical Corps. There they were trained in specialist medical work, and also in basic infantry training and discipline. The following sequences were taken en route to Europe, with stops at Fremantle, Durban, Cape Town, and Dakar. The arrival in England gives views in Wiltshire and Oxfordshire where the men were quartered before travelling to France. Two show the village of Lewknor, the ancestral home of the Quartermain family; and several show the royal review of Australian and New Zealand troops on Salisbury Plain. Other views were taken on leave from France; and with the army of occupation in Cologne, before the voyage home on the ship Kia Ora, through the Panama Canal. The final photograph is a group portrait with Leslie Bowden Quartermain in military uniform seated in the middle of a large group, probably Quartermain family, taken in 1919.
