Description: A series of quick sketches. A two-storied house with another at right-angles (or the same house seen from a different angle) is the most finished. It may show the artist's house at Amuri. There are fifteen drawings of men's faces, including one of a moustached man with upper body including, possibly in a military uniform. There are several cows drawn from several angles and one horse's head. There is also a small drawing of two stick-figure men lining up to fight one another with seated figures behind them. The drawing is undated but the details are likely to have been observed at Duppa's Amuri run in the 1860s. The inside back cover of the sketchbook includes the name and English address of Duppa's nephew, Bryan, who visited Amuri in 1863 Quantity: 1 drawing(s). Description: Views of and from the Long Lookout Homestead owned by Charles Hunter Brown, and adjacent areas around Nelson City. These are followed by scenes of a 10 h.p. "one lunger" motor car on a six day tour from Nelson to Christchurch, and a cutting from the New Zealand Freelance decribing the trip. The car was driven by Willam Graham Vining, with Lucy Malanta Hunter Brown, Mrs W Sutton, and Miss B Humphries as passengers. Probably linked with Charles Hunter Brown albums at PA1-o-238 to PA1-o-241, in which the captions are all in the same hand-writing as those in this album. Description: Six men standing around a pit being prepared with large logs. Five of the men are holding sticks behind two dogs facing one another at the edges of the pit. Another man is holding back a third dog while another places a log at the edge of the pit. Haystacks are faintly outlined behind the group beyond a low fence In one of George Duppa's sketchbooks. The sketchbook contains three other sketches by William Fox, and a larger number of sketches by Duppa. Attributed to Fox on stylistic grounds, but it could also be the work of Duppa.
