Description: Cadastral map with topographical features showing Pihautea Estate and surrounding Maori land in south Wairarapa occupied by Charles R Bidwill. Freehold and native land are referred to in a key. Identifies land blocks with Maori names and unnamed land blocks, both with acreages. Ruamahanga River, Te Maire Creek, Jury's Island and the Road to Kahautara are shown. Other bordering settler properties are named as G Goodrick, W Bicknell, B.W.O. and B Williams, W. Nichol, G. Hunter, Yule Maori land blocks include Maramamau. C.R. Bidwill's station is called Pihautea Station Quantity: 1 manuscript map(s). Description: Surveying map with topographical features of the Ngapuke area, with land occupied by C. R. Bidwill and Maori owners; also shows various Maori named land blocks. Some physical features are described. Includes the Ruamahanga River and Ngapuke Pah site. Note on verso, referring to Pihautea Station, once owned by C. R. Bidwill, states: Old maps of Pihautea Inscriptions: Recto - centre left - I certify that the rules for the guidance of Native land Surveyors have been complied with in this Survey.
