Description: The papers comprise correspondence with individuals, libraries and other sources of information on Coates; transcripts of interviews; newspaper clippings; photocopies and originals of official and private papers; pamphlets and draft chapters, with some commentary from the publisher's reader. Source of title - Supplied Relationship complexity - See TAPUHI for other Sutch papers Arrangement: Approximately half of the records have been arranged and indexed in numbered files. The remainder are unnumbered papers and chapter drafts. From ca 1967 until his death in 1975, Dr Sutch collected material and wrote preliminary chapters for a proposed biography of Joseph Gordon Coates, under whom he had served as secretary between 1933 and 1935.
