Description: A poster-plan map number 839 made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of Whareorino survey district available for lease, the other a locality plan of the locality in the Waikato, from North Cape to Taupo. The cadastral map depicts Whareorino S.D. VII as Crown Land, and highlights in red the narrow strip of 230 acres along the cliffs as the land available for lease. Also depicts 1231 acres of Crown Land assigned to WH Cummings and GP Moore, 596 acres of Crown Land assigned to J T Hatton, Lot 1 of 2 assigned to W F Spence, with 666 acres of Lot 1 and 2 of X assigned to WF Kelly and HJ Kelly. Description: A poster-plan map of Auckland Land District no. 1317 depicting 2102 acres of land for sale or lease to discharged soldiers. Made up of two maps, one a cadastral map of the Mangoira Block, indicating numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The other is a locality plan of the area from Kaipara Harbour south to New Plymouth which has an arrow pointing to Awakino. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', and instructions to applicants. The cadastral map depicts the Awakino North Survey District, with handwritten names listed as CM Raven, MC Pratt, LR Jones, T Cummings, GP Sage, CJ Randell, (earlier owners include Claud Neville de Gray Stevens, S Whitehead). Bordering these properties are the owners WD Black, JR Terrille, SM Black, Thomson, Jones, Cummings, Condon, Beuck, and well as two Native Reserves, and Native owners (Maori land blocks) of Mahoenui no. 4b and Manga - Awakino no. 4. Description: Cadastral maps of rural lands for sale or lease to discharged soldiers. The larger map is of Sections 1 to 9, some numbers having been added in pencil, of Block 3 of the Piopiotea Survey District, adjacent to Ohira South and including the Mangarautawhiri and Pungapunga Streams and a small loop of the Wanganui River. This base map has numbered sections, including acreages, which have been outlined and include owners' names and dates handwritten in each section. The second map is of Section 15, Block XII of the Pirongia Survey District and has 'For this section see Waitomo drawer' handwritten across it. Both of these maps have been struck through with a scribbled line. The Pirongia on the reverse is outlined in red while the Piopiotea map is coloured in red. The larger of the base maps is a plan of sections in the Piopiotea survey district of the West Taupo County. Auckland land district No. 1407. The smaller map is of a section in the Pirongia survey district in Waitomo County. Schedules of this second class land are referred to in a key. The vegetation is described, tramways are included and a small part of the Wanganui River, Mangarautawhiri and Pungapunga Streams are named. Includes several references to worked out bush and timber milling and includes the printed name of Ellis & Burnard Ltd. Description: A base map of lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in the Pukemapou settlement, West Taupo County. The boundaries of farm blocks, Sections 1S to 12S, are prominently outlined and include owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. The entire settlement is surrounded by a rabbit-proof fence and fencelines within the sections are marked as P&W and P&N. A good metal road, waterfall and the Waikeria Stream are marked. Section 1S is labelled 'Reproclaimed DSSA', Section 3S is labelled 'Forf' (i.e. forfeited), both having Gazetteer numbers. Descriptions of the state of the agricultural land is included. Windmills, a stable and homestead are marked. Six references are made to Rangitoto 'A' sections and Mangaorongo S.D. id written prominently close the boundaries of the subdivisions. The base map itself is of sections in the Pukemapou settlement of West Taupo County which includes the Mangaorongo S.D. Auckland Land District No. 1386. A schedule of this district includes the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Description: A manuscript plan of Rural lands for immediate sale in the Punui Survey District - Korakonui Improved farm settlement, West Taupo County, annotated with the names of purchasers upon payment. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Commissioner. Records improved farm settlements at Korakonui, has the survey district name of Mangaorango written adjacent to the farm blocks, which have been divided into four blocks by a hand drawn green line, numbered III, IV, XV, XVI. Section numbers, some lot numbers, acreages - some revised, dates of ownership and names of current and previous owners are handwritten within each block. The boundaries of each section are prominently marked, while some sections are coloured in green and brown. No reference key is provided. Two areas shaded in pink are named Tokanui Mental Asylum and Reformatory Farm. Formed roads, proposed roads and waggon tracks are drawn. The Mangaorongo settlement is bordered by the Mangatuku Stream, Korakonui block and Rangitoto A Nos. 3B, 52, 54, 1, 58B, all numbers followed by N.L. Two areas of Crown Land are marked. A school site, creamer, whare and old cultivations are marked and an area of self-sown grass. The inset map is a locality plan of Puniu and Mangaorongo which is divided into grid-like sections numbered I to XVI. The Mangaorongo sections are coloured pink. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1912. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Commissioner. Base maps of rural lands open for sale or selection in terms of the Land Act, 1908, in the Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey Districts. The boundaries of farm blocks in these districts are prominently outlined, some coloured and the majority include acreages, owners' names and applicable dates handwritten in each section. Native and forest reserves, creamery and school sites, a township, possibly known as Waipari, and tracks are marked. The Mangarata, Wairakei, Punui and Te Hue Streams and the Aotearoa, Wairakei, Wharepunanga and Mangawheo Roads are named, as is the Taupo Track. Directions are given to several settlements including Wharepuhanga, Otorohanga, Tautori and Taumarunui. Some sections include Gazetteer numbers. Includes trig points and relief is shown. Three cuttings relating to the Wharepapa Survey District, Otorohanga County and one cutting related to discharged soldiers in Wharepapa Survey District, West Taupo County are all mounted adjacent to the map. Each cutting has handwritten information including the poster number, dates and 3rd. class which refers to the quality of the land. The base map is of farm sections in the Wharepapa and Ranginui survey districts, Auckland Land District No. 1114. A schedule of these districts include the valuations, acreages and rent. Instructions to applicants and a caution follow with the printed name of H.M. Skeet, Commissioner of Crown Lands. Includes an abstract of conditions of purchase. A statement on the left side of the map begins with '22,153 acres'. Includes the application date of 25 March 1912 at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland. Includes references to 'native owners'. The map on the reverse has a reference key about preferences to landless applicants, for the variously coloured sections. Description: A sale plan of Rural lands for sale by ballot in the Hurakia and Ongarue Survey districts annotated with the names of successful purchasers, 1920. Drawn by Lands and Survey Auckland for the Auckland Crown Lands Comissioner. Comprises two maps of similar size, 'Hurakia Survey District, sections in Block V' and 'Ongarue Survey District, sections in Blocks V, VI, IX and X'. Both maps are in Auckland Land District no. 1377, and depict lands open for sale or lease to discharged soldiers under the Discharged Settlement Act, 1915. Both indicate numbered sections and including acreages, owner's names and dates handwritten in each section. The map also has a small locality plan of the area from Helensville to Waiouru. The map includes several paragraphs of text stating conditions of sale, information about the 'second class land', instructions to applicants, and abstract of conditions. The cadastral map of the Hurakia Survey District depicts the handwritten names MJ Dynan, WM Peterson, J Sheely, WK Wilton, and identifies the timber reserve as Provincial State Forest 'Gaz. 1922 p. 1634. The cadastral map of the Ongarue Survey District depicts the handwritten names Hayward Timber Company, MW Hunter, D Fraser, WR Munro, HR Lamb, A Gall, C Dow, KM Dickson, JA Nicol, WD Gillanders, FA Drake, WJ Devereaux, RE Longden, DM McDonald, GHM Rae, HC Price and AE Plummer, and identifies the timber reserve as Provincial State Forest, 'Gaz. 1922 p. 1634'.
