Description: Railway construction workers on a train on the Main Trunk line one kilometre west of Waiouru, with Mounts Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe in the background. The train, pulled by locomotive L207, is possibly an excursion special. Photograph taken in 1908 by F N Jones of Nelson. Source of descriptive information - date and exact location supplied by library client Locomotive L207 (identified from the maker's number 1205, on the brass plate above the cow catcher) was sold to the Public Works Department in 1901.
