Description: Shows a view from inside a fence with a cart or plough on the near side of it, looking west northwest from the position of the Purewa Cemetery towards the Orakei Peninsula, the Orakei Basin and in the distance the hill of Parnell with a church (St Pauls' with the spire completed) on top of it. There are two small sailing ships (Selwyn's 'Flying Fish' and 'Marian' and a yacht off the Orakei point, and a group of huts ("Okahu N. Village") at the far right above the stream that flows into the Basin. St Paul's Church was built in 1843 but did not acquire the spire seen in this picture until a year or two later.
