The second letter is from several chiefs from Waikanae who dispute the right of Te Teira to dispose of land at Waitara which they claim an ancestral right to through the Ngati Tuaho and Ngati Hinga hapu. The text begins at volume 13 (p730) and ends with volume 32, the last volume about his time in New Zealand Source of title - Transcribed Relationship complexity - Whereabouts of volumes 1-12 is unknown. National Library of Australia was contacted in Oct 1994 but could provide no information on them. In all, they hold volumes 13-77.
