Description: Shows views in the Wellington area. The top view looks along Petone beach to the south-east, with Petone Pa and the 'Native Chapel' (the large building on the left). The central view, taken from Tinakori Road's junction with Hawkestone Street, looks towards Kelburn. There is a bullock cart in the foreground, and three Maori carrying large bundles. The nearest house, on the lower slopes of Tinakore Hill, is that of Nathaniel Levin, with the house of Mr Holroyd above it, and Mr Dorset's house further in the distance at the foot of the trees that cover the hill. The lowest view at Ohiro Bay (or valley) shows a flock of sheep attended by a shepherd and a large-single storied house nestled against trees, the home of Judge Halswell. Description: The collection includes: nine photographs of sheep droving and shearing on a Canterbury farm including one of sheep in a pen being branded and one of two Ford cars on a road surrounded by sheep; two of hay harvesting one with a horse-drawn thresher and the other with a tractor; the first electric tractor; seagulls flocking around newly ploughed earth; looking across the plains towards the mountains near Ruapuna with piles of boulders in the foreground; sheaf throwing at a country sports meeting at Hinds which involved throwing a sheaf over a bar set at pole-vaulting height; two photographs of heavy snow in Ashburton, one of shops in East Street and another of someone attaching skis next to a no cycling sign; a Burnett's motors truck laden with bags of wheat outside a barn with three workers next to it; and the Pa at Whakarewarewa. Description: Photograph album owned, and probably compiled by, Agnes Buckley containing photographs relating to Agnes Mary Buckley's family and her time working as a nurse at Whanganui Public Hospital, ca 1918-1935. Photographers unidentified. Album contains images from nursing life in Wanganui including Agnes and other nurses working (some identified by nicknames), patients in both the child and adult wards as well as convalescing outside in the garden, and preparations for a celebration at the hospital. Also shows the nurses socialising outside of work; new silk stockings, a picnic at Castlecliff Beach, and the wedding of an unidentified couple are covered. Family photographs include portraits as well as pictures from the farm featuring cows, horse riding, dogs, the family home, and clearance of farmland. Miscellaneous images show the main street of Taihape, Durie Hill and the Wanganui River, cars, rural roads, a tea party, Agnes on a motorbike, and an unidentified brass band. Description: Two photographs of children on a donkey and a pony, probably on Sumner beach taken by Walter Burke of Sydney and one at least being of his son; view of rounding up sheep in Canterbury also by Walter Burke; four smaller photographs of pigs in mud, swans, a dove and a magpie in a wicker cage. The one of the dove is captioned "examples of my father's natural history photography which he greatly favoured". Complete total of photographs unknown Pat Lawlor and Keast Burke corresponded on the subject of Australian photographers and writers (see MS-Papers-1280 etc) which is possibly how Lawlor came by these photographs.
