Description: A circus herald advertising the Fitzgerald Brothers' Circus. Recto shows portrait illustrations of the two Fitzgerald Brothers at the top corners, and below is a large scene showing many acts going on in the Big Top. Performers included: The Zenobia Brothers (globe on a tightrope), Gilleno (musical clown), dog show introduced by Manzoni (from the Folies Bergeres), Mdemoiselle Onra (tightrope), Miss Beryl Loraine (contortionist and dancer), Eric and Reano (aerial trapeze comedians), The Flying Meteors, Benato the Clown, The Marottos (horizontal bar) Contains a warning that any swindlers, gamblers, fakirs making false claims and undermining the circus affidavits, will be arrested if found on the grounds. Lists the proprietor (Mr F E Fillis), manager (Signor Agrati), advance agent (Mr J J Cameron), press representative (Mr H G L Barton), and advertising agent (Mr J S H Eccles). The acts included Scindia (performing Bengal tiger), Parisian lady gymnasts Miss Alexandra and Lazel, baby elephants Billy and Bobby with funny monkey waiter Adonis; Grand Garland manoeuvres by eight ladies of the troupe, Feeley Bros comedians, performing trick ponies Billy and Dan, gymnasts Messrs Martini and Holt, horseback riders Mr Wallett and Mdlle Pauline, comedian Walter Holt, Fillis' great jockey act for which he has received 12 medals, Dan and Kate Feeley (balancers), Madam Spangoline the new trick rider, Mayol troupe (classical statuary), Grand Haut Ecole (High School riding with Madam Fillis and the thoroughbred chestnut New Zealand horse "purchased by F E Fillis on his last tour throught this colony"; grand aerial double trapeze display by the Liliputian marvels Master Dickey and Miss Amalia Feeley; three maginificent Nubian lions trained by Mr John Cox, grand amateur riding contest for the prize of a silver watch.
