Some libraries choose not to charge one another for interloans. In other words, they have a reciprocal lending arrangement. As a Te Puna member library, you are free to set up your own reciprocal arrangements and/or you can join the National Reciprocal Group.
The National Reciprocal Group
The National Reciprocal Group is a cross-sector collective of Te Puna member libraries who agree not to charge each other for interloans. This is coordinated by Te Puna Services. Each quarter, we invite libraries to opt-in or out of the group. This is announced via the Te Puna Interloan Updates mailing list.
Setting up reciprocal lending in WorldShare ILL
It’s a good idea to group reciprocal libraries together in WorldShare ILL. This enables you to:
- limit search results to items held by reciprocal libraries
- prioritise reciprocal libraries first when requesting interloans.
