Mantell, Gideon Algernon, 1790-1852 : Papers
The papers consist mainly of letters written by Gideon Mantell to Davies Gilbert concerning geological work, and to the Grantham family on personal and family matters. Also included are records of Mantell's dealings with the Lewes Library Society, a deed of co-partnership with fellow surgeon George Rickwood, bills submitted by Mantell to St Michael's parish and the overseers of Ringmer, title deeds of Castle Place and miscellaneous papers related to his scientific work and concerning `Mantell's Folly'.
