The Wahine tragedy through the lens of the Evening Post Collection

From 5 to 17 April, the National Library will exhibit images from the day of the Wahine tragedy on screens around the building. The images will also screen at Wellington Museum on April 10th.
Come and get a rare glimpse of the Wahine tragedy. See photos taken by the Evening Post photographers as they captured the unfolding events of the day. Presented by Wellington Museum and the Alexander Turnbull Library.
These poignant images show the emotional and physical impact of the tragedy on survivors. They remind us of the importance of documentary history.
On 10 April from 12 to 12.30pm, the images will be screened on the large screen in the programmes room to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Wahine Disaster.
