Photography and how it mediates modern life
Professor Geoffrey Batchen is a teacher, writer and curator focusing on the history of photography.
He is particularly interested in the way that photography mediates every other aspect of modern life, whether we're talking about hair or sex, atoms or planets, commerce or art.
Geoff will give a personal response to the works and themes in the exhibition 'Death & Desire: Hair in the Turnbull collections'.

Geoff has published extensively on photography, its meanings and subversions, and is currently working on a number of projects both here and internationally.
