Workshops, tours, and more
Back by popular demand, join matua Whaitiri Poutawa for a mau rākau (Māori martial arts) workshop. Learn about different combat stances and Māori weaponry before giving it a go yourself.
Keen to learn more about 3 documents that shaped our nation? Join us for 30-minute bilingual tours of He Tohu. You’ll have 3 opportunities to join - tours will start promptly at 10.30, 11.30, and 12.30.
Arts, crafts, and storytelling
Join weaver Lisa Ramanui and learn how to weave your own tīpare (headband) made from harakeke (flax) to take home.
Captivating storyteller, Watene Kaihau, will share the Māori creation story, Te Wehenga o Ranginui rāua ko Papatūānuku (The Separation of Ranginui and Papatūānuku). He will weave taonga pūoro (Māori musical instruments) throughout his skilful oratory. Join these spellbinding sessions at 10am, 11.15am, and 12.15pm!
