See and join in on a display of this Chinese martial art
Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial art that developed at the end of the Ming Dynasty (early 17th Century) from a base of earlier traditional forms of martial arts.
Keith McEwing will perform the Tai Chi Chuan sequence of Yang style 108 hand form (lasting about 20 minutes) and then invite those that are willing to join in the first set of Shibashi (18) Qi Gong (lasting about 15 minutes).
In poor weather the event will be held indoors, on the Library's ground floor.
Keith McEwing is Assistant Curator, Music for the Alexander Turnbull Library and teaches Tai Chi at the Wellington School of Tai Chi Chuan.
