Celebrating the suffrage movement

To celebrate Suffrage Day, the National Library has partnered with the Ministry for Women and the Government Women's Network (GWN) to create a banner exhibition at the National Library.

The exhibition expands on the stories that are part of He Tohu and highlights three key women from New Zealand's suffrage history, Kate Sheppard, Mary Ann Muller and Meri te tai Mangakāhia. Come and learn about New Zealand's suffrage history and see stories of how our world leading suffrage movement put Kiwi women on the global stage.

Celebrating our past, present and continued leadership of women making their mark on the world.
