About the Virtuoso String Orchestra
Transforming lives through music — the Virtuoso Strings Orchestra provide free music education and performance opportunities to socio-economically deprived individuals and communities.
The Virtuoso Strings Charitable Trust runs a comprehensive, holistic, free music scheme, including a community orchestra, based in Cannons Creek, Porirua.
The Trust believes that music education has far-reaching impacts, and should be accessible for all. Their vision is for Porirua to be the home of a truly outstanding community orchestra within five years.
Through providing music tuition and opportunities to engage cooperatively as an orchestra, the Trust equips students with real skills for life.
The Virtuoso Vision
The Virtuoso vision is to create a thriving and supportive environment which nurtures the talent of all young students, helping them develop strong peer and community connections and build an enduring sense of self-worth.
The Virtuoso String Orchestra aims to give every aspiring young musician, from every possible background, a chance to dream big and have role models they can relate to.
Come and celebrate NZ music month with this talented and amazing group of young musicians.
