Queer/LGBTQIA+ collections at the Alexander Turnbull Library

This talk will explore some of the queer/LGBTQIA+ collections held in the Alexander Turnbull Library, including those from the community-run Lesbian and Gay Archives of New Zealand (LAGANZ). It will also offer advice managing your own archives and digital files.

About the speakers

Valerie Love (she/her/they/them) is Kaipupuri Pūranga Matihiko Matua Senior Digital Archivist at the Alexander Turnbull Library, and works with incoming born-digital collections.

Will Hansen (he/him) is a historian about to start his PhD in April, having completed his masters thesis on trans resistance in NZ during the 1970s and 1980s last year. He is also a trustee of LAGANZ, and an avid zine-maker.
