Talk to the experts about caring for audiovisual material
The Conservation Clinic will be held immediately following this month’s Connecting to Collections Talk by Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision staff.
Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision will provide an opportunity for you to talk to experts about the care of home movies and other audiovisual material.
The National Preservation Office Field Conservator, Vicki-Anne Heikell, will be available to offer you preservation advice on the care, handling and storage of your treasured family items.
Please note that conservators are not able to provide valuations.

About the speakers
Louise McCrone is the Group Manager Collection Services — Poutakinga Rōpū Ratonga Kohikohinga at Ngā Taongo Sound & Vision. Initially Louise trained as film archivist at the NZ Film Archive, now Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, and at the 2009 FIAF (International Federation of Film Archives) Film Restoration Summer School in Bologna, Italy. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies from Massey University. Louise has nearly 20 years' experience in a variety of roles caring for all formats of New Zealand’s audiovisual taonga. Leslie Lewis, Film Preservation Team Leader - Kaiārahi Tira Kiriata After Leslie completed her training as a film archivist she worked at a variety of archives including George Eastman House (New York) and the Thai Royal Film & Photography Archive (Bangkok). She also spent several years with the National Film Preservation Foundation (USA), researching and coordinating the repatriation and preservation of over 300 nitrate films through a series of international cooperative projects involving nearly a dozen national archives. Vicki-Anne Heikell is Field Conservator at the Alexander Turnbull Library. She provides training and advice in the preservation of documentary heritage items and collections to individuals, groups, iwi/Māori and organisations throughout New Zealand.
