- Through a Western lens the Māori practice mākutu has too often been presented as ‘witchcraft’, and ‘black magic’. Challenging such simplistic views, this talk provides a Māori perspective, bringing deeper understanding to a topic that has often been misunderstood and sensationalised in novels, films and media.
