What's in findNZarticles?
Bibliography of New Zealand Bibliographies – compiled by Tony Millett
This bibliography lists bibliographies published in New Zealand or about New Zealand since 1960. It includes stand-alone publications, theses, library school bibliographies, and separate bibliographies in books and periodicals. It does not list "back-of-book" bibliographies, since most non-fiction books include this type of bibliography or list of references. The information provided includes author/compiler, editor, title, publisher, subject and keyword.
Bibliography of Published New Zealand Family Histories – compiled by Tony Millett
A listing of separately published histories of families with descendants in New Zealand. All of the histories are indexed by author, title, keyword and family names; many are also indexed by founder names; country, county and town of origin; ship on which the family arrived in New Zealand; year of arrival; and region and place of main settlement in New Zealand. Some records also include the surnames of the families into which the first generation of descendants married.
Bibliography of the Greater Waikato Region – University of Waikato
A bibliography of all publications – books, theses, periodical articles, AJHR reports, special issues of newspapers – which relate to the Greater Waikato Region. Newspapers are not included.
Bibliography on Homosexuality in New Zealand – compiled by Tony Millett
A bibliography of books, theses, reports, chapters in books and periodical articles relating to homosexuality in New Zealand. Newspaper articles, and articles in exclusively gay journals, are not included.
BUGS database – Landcare Research
BUGS contains approximately 16,000 records of information in publications about New Zealand insects and other non-marine invertebrates, spanning 1775-1993.
CCS Disability Action
The CCS Disability Action Information Service catalogue includes a comprehensive index of articles about disability in New Zealand. Most indexed materials date from 1989 onwards but there are some earlier materials. Subjects primarily cover issues for disability and health services and the not for profit sector and voluntary agencies in New Zealand.
Hawke's Bay Regional News Archive – Napier Public Library
An archive of Hawke's Bay and Napier news gathered from the Daily Telegraph and Hawke's Bay Today newspapers. News events of significance to the Hawke's Bay region, and, more specifically, to Napier city, from 1986 onwards have been indexed. A retrospective indexing project is constantly adding to the number of historic records. The archive contains Births, Deaths and Marriages in Napier.
Index Auckland - Auckland City Libraries
Index Auckland has references to articles on history, art, theatre, film and music for the Auckland area. Many articles are from Auckland City suburban newspapers, particularly from 1996.
Index New Zealand (INNZ) – National Library of New Zealand
INNZ provides descriptions and citations to articles in over 1000 New Zealand and South Pacific newspaper and journal titles from 1987 to the present. Some pre-1987 items are added retrospectively. Concentrates on popular journals, scholarly journals in arts, humanities and social sciences, professional and trade journals and newspapers. Ideal for general and research enquiries at secondary school level and upwards. Approximately 3000 new records added monthly.
INNZ chapters from books/conference papers – National Library of New Zealand
This index includes approximately 8,000 records for individual chapters from monograph and monographs-in-series, including individual conference papers, published 1999 and earlier. These citations were removed from Index New Zealand in June 1999, when it became a serials-only database at the time of migration to the Voyager system.
Māori Bibliography – University of Waikato
A subject index to information on Māori topics appearing in books, conference proceedings and selected periodicals. The bibliography is intended to supplement other sources of information – it does not index material that can easily be found in the University of Waikato Library Online Catalogue (that is, complete books, theses and serials on Māori topics) or in Index New Zealand (INNZ) or Index to New Zealand Periodicals. The bibliography does include publications which contain Māori information that can not quickly be found because the title of the work does not indicate Māori content, or the subject headings used are not detailed enough.
New Zealand science journals – Royal Society of New Zealand
This index includes approximately 10,000 records for New Zealand science journals from 1918 to 1994. The science journals include: Journal of the Royal Society of New Zealand, New Zealand journal of agricultural research, New Zealand journal of botany, New Zealand journal of crop and horticultural science, New Zealand journal of experimental agriculture, New Zealand journal of geology and geophysics, New Zealand journal of marine and freshwater research, New Zealand journal of science, New Zealand journal of science and technology and New Zealand journal of zoology.
Papers Index – Christchurch City Libraries
The Papers Index is a selective index of articles, mainly of local interest, published in urban editions of The Press from 2 January 1995 and the Christchurch Star from 14 October 1998. As of January 2002, articles from the Christchurch Star are indexed only if coverage does not also appear in The Press; the exceptions are obituaries and reviews which are indexed from both.
Publications Database – Landcare Research
Landcare Research is New Zealand's foremost environmental research organisation (founded in 1992), specialising in sustainable management of land resources optimising primary production, enhancing biodiversity, increasing the resource efficiency of businesses, and conserving and restoring the natural assets of our communities. Scientific papers and some popular articles etc. are included in the database, but not contract reports to clients.

Subjects covered primarily relate to Dunedin, Otago and Southland events and people. It includes the publications of eight Crown Research Institutes, some Research Associations material, and publications of the former DSIR (coverage: all scientific disciplines except most of medicine).
