Description: Advertises a season of the play "Awhi Tapu". Shows a portrait of Rua Kenana, from the James Cowan Collection, Alexander Turnbull Library. The text says: "Four friends, a prophet and a desire to burn". Set design by Tony de Goldi; lighting design by Lisa Maule; costumes by Colin McLean and sound design by Warren Maxwell. Sponsors were Creative New Zealand, Auahi Kore, Wellington City Council, Circa Theatre, Outwide, Sticky Fingers, and Frontloader. Two copies held. Description: Poster showing solemn oval vignette portraits of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement in Victorian costume of top hats, waistcoats and ties. The word "MAUI" is formed as if carved out of pounamu. There are also small labelled illustrations of "A carefree wahine", "A lovely wahine", "Pohutukawa", "Kowhai", "Piwaikawaka" [sic], "Kereru", "Merry Maori maidens", "Savages on stage", "Hongi", and a small pataka on a pole. Across the top, the main title is as if "carved" out of wood, and the right and left borders show an illustration of an uenuku carving. The logos of the sponsors are shown at the lower edge: Creative NZ, Auahi Kore, Wellington City Council, Taki Rua Productions, BATS Theatre, Radio Active 89FM, Outwide.
