Description: Minutes and financial papers of the Trust Management Board, the Board of Governors, and the Trust and Management Boards. Source of title - Supplied title In 1878, Mrs Swainson set up a school for girls on Fitzherbert Terrace, Wellington. After her death in 1897, her daughter, Mary Swainson carried on the school until 1907, when it was bought by Miss Baber. In 1920, a Board of Trustees, under the chairmanship of the Anglican Bishop of Wellington, bought the school, with Miss Baber remaining as headmistress. The school was given its present name, and in 1926 was relocated to its current site in Karori. A Trust Management Board was set up to manage the school; the name was then changed to Board of Governors, but later reverted to the original title.
