Description

Head and shoulders portraits of two Tahitian men, both wearing woven garments. The man on the left has tattoo showing on his right jaw and lower cheek; the one on the right has his mouth drawn down to one side and up on the other, so that it appears diagonal.

Parkinson was the artist on Captain Cook's voyage to the South Pacific in 1769.
