Apia Park was originally a venue for horse racing. Today it is mainly used for rugby but the old horse-racing track is visible in the background of this photograph. (Information from a caption accompanying the National Library exhibition `Va'aomanu' celebrating the history and culture of Samoa, 1 March - 28 June 1998)
