'The rest home patient...' "Mmpphff gack..." 'The rest home operator...' "Never saw a thing..." 'The rest of us...' "A story about old people. Gross! Yuk! Not listening..." 1 July, 2008
In three frames shows a portrait of a rest home patient who is gagged and can only mumble, the rest home operator who is blindfolded and says that she never saw a thing and a young man representing 'the rest of us' who has his hands over his ears and doesn't want to listen to a story about old people. The cartoon is a variation on the three wise monkeys who didn't speak, see or hear. Refers to a recent case which has brought rest homes into the public eye because an old woman was seen by a tradesman with her mouth taped. The problem of poorly paid and unqualified staff in rest homes is being aired again.
