The 15 employees of the Public Works Department outside the government department building in Stratford. The windows of the building advertise the following: Registrar of Brands, Inspector of Stock, Department of Agriculture - Industries & Commerce, Inspector of Noxious weeds, Land & Survey Department, Crown Lands Ranger and Public Works Department. Taken by James McAllister in 1913.

Two-storied Edwardian structure, formerly the province's Public Works headquarters, housed a number of government agencies for around 90 years. The building was finally purchased by the adjacent Stratford Club for redevelopment, but instead was sold for relocation and in 1993 was transported in four parts to Maitangi, near Hamilton, to become a residence.
